What exactly is an automatic aerosol fire suppression system?
An automatic aerosol fire suppression system from AF-X Fireblocker uses a
non-pressurised generator with a solid aerosol-forming compound. When a
detector or control panel sends an electrical impulse, this compound
transforms into a rapidly expanding aerosol that passes through a cooling
section and fills the protected volume. Instead of cooling or removing oxygen,
the aerosol works on a molecular level by binding free radicals in the flame.
Oxygen remains breathable, but the fire can no longer use it. Because the dry
aerosol is a solid, there is no pipework, no gas cylinders and no water
storage. This makes the system compact, pressureless and suitable even for
sensitive electronics.

How do installation and maintenance work in practice?
We keep installation as simple as possible. AF-X Fireblockers are compact,
pressureless units that can be mounted directly in rooms, cabinets, engine
spaces or containers—without structural changes, piping, separate gas rooms or
water supply. An E-installer can connect the units with a simple two-wire
cable to our controllers or your fire detection system. Maintenance focuses
mainly on visual checks and periodic testing of activators and system
functions, which keeps ongoing costs low. For IT and server rooms we also work
with clear reconditioning protocols so that even very sensitive equipment can
be protected safely.
